Grand Canyon Campgrounds
MATHER CAMPGROUND is operated by National Park Service, and is located in a close proximity from Village Market Plaza, and a mile south of Visitor Center. No hookups. Maximum vehicle length: 30 ft. 320 tent sites. Reservation required from March 1 to November 30. Rest of the year, on a first come first served basis, at $ 18/night. Maximum 7 nights. THE TRAILER VILLAGE has 84 trailer pull-through sites with full hookups, and is located just next to Mather Campground. $24/site/night for two people, and $2 for each additional person over 16 years of age. Open year round. Reservation through XANTERRA, at 888-297-2757.
DESERT VIEW CAMPGROUND is located at the east gate of the Park, 23 miles east of the Village. 50 tent sites. Self registration and occupancy is on first come first served basis. $ 12/site/night. No hookups. Toilets and telephones at nearby facilities.
INDIAN GARDEN is a backcountry campground with 15 tent sites, located 4.6 miles (7.4 km) from The Village at 3100 ft. (950 m) below the rim. Toilets and water available. Ranger station. A permit is required for overnight backcountry camping throughout the park ( $ 15 + $ 5 per person per night).
