Emerald Lake
Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park is a beautiful site.
The lake is emerald coloured due to the run-off water from the glaciers in the area.
As glacial ice melts, the run-off dissolves small particles of powdered rock, commonly called rock flour. Rock flour makes the lake water quite murky but extremely beautiful.
Emerald Lake Lodge is an exclusive retreat on the shores of exquisite Emerald Lake. The historic Lodge remains the heart of the resort and one of Canada's most outstanding year-round accessible wilderness settings.
